Summerfest this Weekend!

WION received this nice e-mail yesterday late afternoon from Sue VanLente. We'd like you to read it, and believe this is another GREAT example of how Ionia County's residents help EACH OTHER in times of need. Please attend if you can!
Here is the e-mail.

"Hundreds of volunteers were on hand over the past 24 hours to clean up the athletic fields at Portland St. Patrick, which were badly damaged in yesterday's tornado. The annual parish festival, Summerfest, is scheduled to take place there this weekend, and for a few hours, it was feared that the event would have to be cancelled.

This afternoon, after meeting with the other ministers in town, Father Larry King announced that Summerfest will go on as planned, and that St. Patrick Church will donate 25% of the proceeds to the Portland Area Ministerial Association, to help with expenses for the churches that were damaged in the storm. This year, Summerfest will be a Community Event, focused on helping heal the wounds of the June 22 tornado."
